Spring is in the air this week and I’m so excited to share the first design of this season with you.
This free Hello Spring SVG file is going to be the perfect way to get your Spring crafting started too!
The ideas for this free Spring SVG file are endless, but I’m going to share some with you today.
In addition to making small wood signs like the one in the photo above, this design would look great on t-shirts, mugs, welcome mats, wreath signs, garden flags, and so much more.
If you choose to make a small wood sign like the one above, I suggest using stencil vinyl, such as Oramask 813. This way you can literally cut out the entire design at once, transfer it to your sign and then paint each element separately.
For those of you who never worked with stencil vinyl, this is a great opportunity to get started. It is really simple to use.
Some of the tips that you want to remember are:
1. Measure your sign before you cut your stencil and use those measurements to size your stencil out. You want to basically create a square or rectangle, depending on your sign shape, and then put your design inside.
2. You’re going to weed the opposite parts that you normally would with vinyl, because that’s going to be what you will be painting.
3. To get crisp lines, you need to use a sponge brush and use minimal paint. The less paint that you use, the less likely you are to have bleeding happening.
QUICK NOTE: You can use this design for personal and commercial use. If you’d like to share it with your friends (I’d LOVE THIS!), I do ask that you just link them to this post and help support my website. Also, please don’t upload it to a print on demand (POD) website, or send it for mass production.
Thank you so much for your support, and if you make anything with this design, tag me @PerfectStylishCuts, I love seeing your makes.
