This year my family and I are celebrating the Cinco De Mayo a little different than we did last year, but you can bet there’s still going to be a fiesta!
Our plans include grilling, making tacos and having a few margaritas. There will also be decorations and shirts made, plus our traditional game of “loteria”, aka Mexican Bingo.
Today I wanted to share with you this super colorful, fun and free Happy Cinco De Mayo SVG file in hopes that it will inspire you to make something for yourself.

My plan for this design is to make a small reverse canvas to put up on my mantle as part of my Cinco De Mayo decor.
What I love most about making reverse canvas signs is that they are really easy to make, beautiful to display and super easy to store for future use.
If you’ve never made a sign out of a regular canvas sign, allow me to tell you a little bit more about them.
Basic Instructions To Make A Quick Reverse Canvas Sign
1 . Take a blank canvas sign and use pliers to to pull out the staples that are used to attach it to the frame in the back.
2 . Stain or paint the frame using any color that you’d like and let it dry. I personally like to use a stain that matches home decor. If you don’t have stain, feel free to just use a paint color that you like or matches the design.
3 . Using iron-on vinyl, cut your design out and press it onto the canvas. Remember to mirror the design.
4 . Now you want to take your frame and place it face down on a flat surface and place the canvas behind it, centering your design as best as possible. You will have overhang at this point.
5 . Now to finish it, you just need to use a staple gun to stretch and staple the canvas to the back side of the frame, essentially creating a “reverse canvas” sign.
NOTE: As per the overhang part of the canvas, you should just use some scissors to cut it short enough that it doesn’t show from the front.
QUICK NOTE: You can use this design for personal and commercial use. If you’d like to share it with your friends (I’d LOVE THIS!), I do ask that you just link them to this post and help support my website. Also, please don’t upload it to a print on demand (POD) website, or send it for mass production.
