What I love about these heart shapes is how versatile they are for Cricut projects.
You can use them in so many ways to add a little Valentine’s Day flair, and they are super easy to use and customize to your liking.
Once you have a blank that you like, then you can pick a heart shape to use.
You can use the Free Heart SVG that you pick as is, or you can customize it with a name, or a quote, or combine several hearts to make a pattern perhaps.
There’s no wrong way to use these heart shapes, so I always suggest just thinking of a blank that you want to use, and starting from there.
Upload Free Heart Shapes To Cricut Design Space
STEP 1: Download the FREE Heart SVG Files at the bottom of this post.
To do this, just head down to the bottom of this post and click on the download link, then save the SVG file.
STEP 2: Upload the design to Cricut Design Space.
You can easily do this on either your computer or mobile device by just going to the Cricut Design Space app, opening a New Project, and then looking for the “Upload” option on the left hand-side toolbar.
Once you’ve clicked here, you will then need to click on “Upload Image” and browse your computer or device for the Free Heart SVG file that you saved.
Make sure that you leave the image as a “Cut Image”, and then you can name it and tag it to your liking before clicking the “Upload” button.
The last step is to click on the image which will appear under your “Recent Uploads”, and then hit the green button that says “Add To Canvas.”

STEP 3: Ungroup the file
Once you have uploaded the Free Heart SVG file to Cricut Design Space you will notice that all 16 hearts come in at once and they are grouped together.
To ungroup them, just select the image, right click, and “Ungroup.”
Now your images are separated and at this point you can pick and choose which ones you want to use right away, and either hide or delete the ones you don’t need at the time.
I prefer to just hide the ones I’m not using to avoid having to upload the entire file again to get them back.
To hide a heart shape that you won’t be using, just look at the “Layers” panel and click the little eye next to the elements you won’t be using.
Whenever you’re ready to bring them back, just click the eye again and viola!
How Do I Use These Free Heart SVG Files?
You can use them however you’d like, once again that’s the beautiful of having so many different heart shapes!

However I am going to share 3 of my favorite ways that you can use these designs for Valentine’s Day Cricut craft projects.
As you can see in the photo above, there are 3 different designs that I made with different hearts from the Free Heart SVG file.
Personalize It With A Name
The first one is a heart with my daughters name on it. This would go great on a shirt, or even as a gift tag cutout.
To make this all I did was pick a solid heart, and add a text box to write her name in. It’s super simple, but you can do so much with it.
Add Words Or A Popular Saying
One of my favorite ways to use shapes is to use them as part of a bigger design that includes some text; such as a popular holiday saying.
In this case you can see that I used the hearts within hearts design and added some text below it that says “Happy Valentine’s Day.”
You can use a design like this on cards, on a shirt, a mug, you name it.
Once again to make this, just pick the heart you want to use, and add a text box with your words.
Feel free to arrange them however you’d like.
Make It Into A Pattern
Lastly I picked a solid heart and then duplicated it a few times to create a pattern that I added twice to a gift tag.
The gift tag is a just a shape that I selected from the left hand-side Cricut menu that says “Shapes.” They have 2 that you can pick from.
Then I added two text boxes for the “To and From” and then two squares that I resized to make the lines.
Easy right?
And in case you’re wondering what font I used for these samples, it’s a free font from DaFont called “Astronauta Script“.
Free Heart SVG Craft Ideas
And now here are just a few more Heart SVG Cricut craft project ideas that you can use as inspiration!

Put It On A Shirt – This is just one of the hearts that would look great on a t-shirt.
You can make this shirt last minute and it only uses a single color of iron-on so you can complete this project from start to finish in less than 20 minutes.

Make Earrings As A Gift Or For Yourself – With your Free Heart SVG download you get 2 pairs of heart earrings that you can cut out.
I love to use the faux leather to make these, and to add the X’s and O’s just pick a font of your choice, then size it to fit in your earrings and cut them out.

Write In Your Own Sentiments And Put Them On A Cup Or Wine Glass – This is a super simple way to use the sweetheart candy shapes.
Just duplicate all 3 of the hearts, then use the “Contour” option in Design Space to remove the outlines and only leave the insides; change the colors of the insides.
Then pick a font, capitalize it, and write your sentiments.
Make sure to size them accordingly.
If you want to wrap an entire cup or glass, just duplicate them as many times as needed.

Make A Cutout Card – This is a design that can easily be sized to fit a card and then cutout to reveal a color from behind.
I love to use my Cricut Joy to make cards, but if you don’t have a Cricut Joy and you would like to make this, then you just have to do a few things.
First add a square shape into Design Space, and size it 8.5 inches wide by 5.5 inches tall.
Then add a scoreline to the middle and place your heart shape where you’d like it to be on the right half.
Now select both the card and the heart and click “Slice”.
Finally just attach all of the pieces together and send them to cut.
Once cut, you just need to fold it in half and add your insert.
You can add the corners before you send it to cut, or just use craft glue to glue the insert piece to the card from the inside.

Put It On A Wood Sign – This might be my favorite way to use this Free Infinity Heart SVG file.
I can totally see putting this on the mantle or on a table in my house next to photos of my husband and I.
To make this I also just picked the heart and added two text boxes with a nice font and the quote “Forever & Always.”
Such a super simple Valentine’s Day Cricut craft project!

Make Gift Tags – Aren’t these adorable? If you want to make these, just select a tag shape from within Cricut Design Space or make your own by combining shapes, and then add a heart and a sentiment.
This saying is very popular around Valentine’s Day, and if you have some scrap permanent vinyl laying around then this project will be perfect to use those up!
