You may be asking yourself right now, “but why do I need these?” and the answer is simple, but it’s a two part answer.

THE TWO REASONS YOU NEED THESE CARE CARDS IF YOU’RE RUNNING A CRAFT BUSINESS

The first reason is because your customers may not be familiar with the proper care needed for vinyl and these cards would help guide them in the right direction. This would lead to them having a great experience with your products, which could potentially turn into more business!

The second reason is that our customers get a longer life out of the cups that we sell and therefore you avoid complaints and hopefully get wonderful reviews instead.

I can’t tell you just how many times I’ve seen people post in Facebook groups that they received a complaint from their customer that the vinyl peeling up after just one wash or even worse after running it in the dishwasher! I mean, I see this type of post on the regular y’all.

HOW DO I PRINT THESE OUT?

So now that I’ve convinced you that these care instructions are a must-have, especially if you’re selling straw cups, insulated tumblers, wine glasses, stemless wine glasses, or coffee mugs, let me tell you how to download and print these out.

FIRST, HERE’S WHAT’S INCLUDED

Straw Cup Care Instructions Cards

These are perfect for any kind of straw cup that you’re customizing, including those awesome Starbucks cups and even the color changing ones.

Insulated Tumbler Care Instructions Cards

These are great to include with insulated cup. These are usually so expensive and I know that your customers will appreciate some guidance as to how to care for these beautiful cups.

Coffee Mug Care Instructions Cards

The coffee mug cards are great for any kind of mug that you’re selling. Even if you’ve sealed it, your customers will still benefit from these cards.

Wine Glass Care Instructions Cards

These are great because you will help your customers prolong the life of the vinyl on their wine glass as well as avoid them getting broken in the dishwasher.

Stemless Wine Glass Care Instructions Cards

Same goes for the stemless variety. You want to encourage your customers with these care cards to handwash only.

CAN I JUST PRINT THESE AND CUT THEM OUT MYSELF?

Yes! This is actually the easiest way to start using these cards. Just scroll to the bottom of this post and look for the downloads that are labeled “PDF File”.

These already come with several cards to a page and sized just right! You can print as many as you need all at once and you can even have your little ones help you cut these out to practice their scissor skills.

HERE’S WHAT I RECOMMEND …

WHAT IF I DON’T HAVE A PRINTER?

If you don’t have a printer, don’t worry about it, you can still get these printed out and usually for super cheap! Call your local Office Depot or FedEx Kinkos and they will help you to get these printed out.

You can even buy your cardstock and take it to them to get it printed out on a heavier paper. This literally costs pennies per sheet, so don’t let not having a printer stop you from using these super cute care cards!

PAPER I USE

– I recommend that you use cardstock for these cards to help them hold up. I always use either 65 pound or 110 pound cardstock, depending on what I have available. You can find really cheap cardstock on Amazon or at Michaels, and even use a coupon on it. Also, you can use any color that you like, there’s lots of options.

HERE’S THE PRINTER I USE

– I have the HP Office Jet 3830 All-In-One Printer. I love this baby! I’ve literally had it for years and it’s never done me wrong. I use the Instant Ink feature which sends me ink automatically when it sense I’m low, depending on my use. Totally recommend this and I’m pretty positive it’s a “best seller” on Amazon … which is where I got mine lol.

HOW DO I USE THESE WITH PRINT THEN CUT ON MY CRICUT?

Last, but not least let’s talk about how you can use these cards to “print then cut” them with your Cricut. This is such a cool way to make these as we are crafters and making things ourselves is like da bomb right?!

I use my Cricut Maker, but you can use this method to cut with your Cricut Explore machines as well!

HERE ARE THE STEPS

1. Download the SVG File at the bottom of this post.

If you just scroll down to the bottom of this post, you will find lots of file types that I’ve included for you. Download the one labeled “SVG File”. This is the one we’re going to need! Also, make sure you save this to a spot in your computer that you will remember.

2. Upload it to Cricut Design Space.

Now, log into Cricut Design Space and start a “New Project”, then select the “Upload” button to bring in an image. Once you’re to this screen, browse for the SVG file that you downloaded and upload and save it. Once it’s saved, you’ll see the “Insert Image” button, click that.

3. Size it to your liking and Duplicate It.

So now that you’ve got the image into your canvas area, size it to your liking. I think that a 3 inch height is the perfect size for these cards.

Once you’ve sized your cards, you will want to duplicate them if you want to print and cut more than one card at a time, which is a total time saver. Keep in mind that Cricut limits the print area to 9.25 inches by 6.75 inches, so you may only be able to include 4-6 cards, depending on sizing.

What I do normally is that I create a rectangle shape with the size 9.25 inches tall by 6.75 inches wide and then I take my cards and try to fit as many as I can in there. Once I’ve done that, then I just delete the rectangle.

4. Flatten the image.

The final step before you hit that “Make It” button is to flatten your image. This means that you will want to highlight all of the cards and then click on the “Flatten” button on the right hand side. You should see a little printer icon appear next to the design and this is how you’ll know that you’re ready to hit the Make It button.

5. Send it to Print Then Cut.

Yay, now we’re to the fun part! Click that “Make It” button and send your care cards to the printer. Remember that if you’re going to use cardstock, you will want to go to your printer real quick and prep that paper into your printer tray.

Once you’ve printed your cards, you will notice that there’s a black square around the entire thing and this is really important because this is how your machine will know how to cut these out.

So from here, you want to take that paper and line it up almost perfectly on your green or blue Cricut cutting mat. Then select the material of your paper in Design Space, load your mat into your machine and let the cutting begin!

** I’ve got one last tip for you.

Once your cards have been cut and you’ve unloaded your mat, don’t just pull the cards off, because you may damage them this way.

Instead what you want to do is pull the mat off the cards. This sounds a little bit backwards, but trust me this is the way to go. Otherwise you can end up with cards that tear because the mat is too sticky, or even worse, curled up cards.

If you just turn your mat with the cards facing down, and you roll the mat towards you, this will make your cards come off the mat almost seamlessly. This tip is a craft saver y’all.

SO WHAT DO YOU THINK?
